Introduction

We travelled in Bolivia between May 5th and June 17th 1995 so all the information in these pages should be read with this in mind as any prices given will be well out of date. Our route took us from the Brazilian border at Corumba by train (The 'Death Train') to Santa Cruz, Sucre, Tarija, Potosi, Uyuni, Cochabamba, La Paz and Lake Titicaca at Copacabana. This web-site is a jumble of pictures and memories of this trip.

The pictures above are taken from the major cities and areas we visited
Santa Cruz

Sloths live in the trees of the plaza in the centre.

Sucre

Bolivia's capital - we ate some of the best and certainly the cheapest 3 course meals we've ever had.

Tarija

In the wine region, a city famous for it's children's parades.

Uyuni

The fabulous salt flats, lagunas and desert.

Potosi

World famous silver mines.

La Paz

Bolivia's administrative capital, and the world's highest.

Lake Titicaca

Shared with Peru, this is the world's highest navigable lake.

All photographs were taken by the author for which a fixed-focus 35mm camera with a plastic lens was used due to failure of the author's SLR camera before reaching Bolivia.
