The island is covered with cacti, some of which are over 5m in height, and strewn with rocks. A large, inbred rabbit is supposed to inhabit the island, prevented from normal development by the large distance to the nearest landfall on the 'shores' of the Salar. The distant mountains visible in the above picture are a great deal further away from the island than they appear - probably around 60km away. It is a remote, desolate place. |
